Providing Over 3,500 Meals Weekly for Those in Need
MISSION OF THE FOOD CLOSET
The Culpeper Food Closet is an outreach mission of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Since 1984, with community support, we provide food to Culpeper town and county families and individuals in need.
HOW YOU CAN HELP DURING COVID-19
The Food Closet will continue to care for and serve our community families in need as long as possible during the COVID-19 outbreak. In an effort to keep both our clients and volunteers safe, guest will find a few changes in the way they receive their food. Volunteers will be present to help everyone through various transitions.
Many families and children rely on school lunches for their midday meal. We will be seeing a great increase in food needs while schools are out of session. Please consider donating food and personal care items. A drop-off area is located at the Food Closet.

SCOPE OF IMPACT
This outreach mission provides food and some personal care products to Culpeper families and individuals in need, approximately 3,500 meals every week. Culpeper Human Services refers 80 to 100 families to the Food Closet. Many families don’t need help on a regular basis; they may have an unforeseen hardship, such as illness, job loss or even a car breakdown. Families are offered hope and encouragement, with three meals a day and other necessary items for all family members, depending on their referral. The Food Closet operates solely through the dedicated work of over 90 volunteers, and from donations from local businesses, schools, churches and individuals.

We can't do it alone...The impact from this ministry could not happen without our giving and gracious volunteers, and the generous donations from the community. We hope you'll consider giving or volunteering to help feed more families in need.
