What Is the Gospel?

First and foremost, the gospel is Good News - the Good News that “Jesus Christ came into the world to save Sinners.” (1 Timothy 1:15). The gospel proclaims to us the one-way love of God that St. Paul so eloquently spoke of in his letter to the Romans: “But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us.” The gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ and the power of God’s kingdom has entered into history to forgive our sin, heal our brokenness and restore all of creation. The Swiss Theologian Karl Barth put the gospel in even simpler terms: “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so.”

What We Believe

The Nicene Creed and the Apostles' Creed

As a Christians, we believe the Nicene Creed and the Apostles’ Creed. As an Episcopal church in the Anglican tradition, our historic statement of faith is called The 39 Articles of Religion. This document, established in England in 1563, is a beautiful, succinct, explanation of the Christian faith.
