Stephen's Friends Ministry
Stephen's Friends is a ministry of outreach and hospitality to guests who come early to the Food Closet. The waiting room is open Monday-Friday 8-9 am for coffee, food, fellowship, prayer and singing. Helping to provide shelter from the elements and an atmosphere of welcome, volunteers pick up donated food from several generous 7-11's in town, make coffee, and stock condiments each day for our guests to enjoy.
Infant Baptismal Stole Ministry
In the Baptism service, the newly baptized are received “into the household of God” to “share in his eternal priesthood.” This year infants baptized at St. Stephen’s have received handmade stoles embroidered with symbols of the Faith to recognize this new calling on their lives.
The Culpeper Food Closet Ministry
This large ministry provides food and personal care items to families in need in our community. People are referred to the Food Closet with a voucher by first visiting the local Department of Social Services. This ministry operates with over 90 volunteers, solely with the support of residents and companies in Culpeper. No state or local funding is used.
Sunday School
We have Adult Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and children's Sunday School at 10:30 a.m. every Sunday. Sunday School runns from the first Sunday after Labor Day until the first Sunday of Pentecost.
Revelation Youth Group
A group of knitters or crocheters gather once every month to make shawls for people in need of healing, comfort and prayer. We use simple patterns, so we can pray as we work. Each person works at his or her own pace, doing most of the work at home.
Lectio Divina
This group meets every Monday evening from 6:30 p.m. ~ 7:45 p.m. in the Rector’s office. They hold an in-depth study of the Gospels, one chapter at a time, offering prayer and meditation on the lesson.
Lenten Dinner and Study
Every Wednesday evening during Lent, a potluck dinner is organized and followed by a study session. Child care is available in the nursery.
