
Fellowship Groups
The Welcoming Church Family group invites and welcomes people into the St. Stephen’s Church family.
Foyer Groups are monthly family social gatherings in people’s homes.
The Episcopal Church Women (E.C.W.) meet on the second Monday of the month at 10:00 AM. They are an organization of women dedicated to praying for the sick of the parish and offering service through hospitality and fund raising.
The Brotherhood of St. Andrew is dedicated to prayer, study and service among men and youth. We meet at 7:00 AM on Tuesdays for breakfast and study.

The St. Thomas Circle is a social gathering of women who meet at 7:00 PM on the third Tuesday of the month in different members’ homes. We have dinner together and enjoy each other’s company.
St. Hildegard meeting on the second Thursday in the Gathering Room on the third floor of the new building at 7:30 p.m.
Worship Groups
The Worship Committee meets at 5:30 PM on the third Wednesday of the month. If you’d like to help plan worship services for the months ahead, please join us.
The Altar Guild prepares the sanctuary for worship each Sunday and Wednesday, as well as wedding funerals and special services. They meet every other month on a Saturday morning for breakfast and planning.
Our Acolytes serve at the altar of the Lord during worship services.

The Choir practices at 7:30 PM on Wednesdays, warms up at 10:30 AM on Sundays for the 11:00 service.

Our Layreaders read the Scriptures and lead the intercessory prayers at the 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM services.
The Ushers make sure everyone has what they need to worship at our 8:00 and 11:00 services.

The Nursery is available for children ages 6 and under on Sunday mornings from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. during the summer and from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. during the school year. One volunteer adult is need to assist the paid attendants in the nursery each Sunday.
Study Groups
Sunday School for all ages meets at 10:00 AM on Sunday mornings during the school year. If you’d like to help teach, contact Michael Gray, at 825-8786 or at mldgray@msn.com.
Journey to Adulthood (J2A) is our teenage class. We meet at 10:00 AM on Sunday mornings. If you’d like to know more, call Michael Gray, at 825-8786 or at mldgray@msn.com.
Vacation Bible School (VBS), meets over the summer.
Parish Retreat The Annual Parish Retreat convenes at Shrine Mont (Our Diocesan Camp and Conference Center) on the third weekend in June.
Wednesday Evening Dinner and Study
On Wednesday
evening we hold a dinner -pot luck during Lent, followed by a study session. Dinners is at 7 p.m., followed by the study
session. Child care/programs are available. Please contact the church office

Service Groups
The Culpeper Food Closet at St. Stephen’s is open from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday. We are committed to making sure that everyone who needs food can get it here.
The Grants Committee, under the guidance of the Vestry, works to use earnings from the Adkins Trust to benefit the church and to support other godly works.
The Lewis-Troth Scholarship Committee supports post high school students within the community. The person may be a high school senior entering an accredited college, university or a trade school, or someone entering the work force.
Intercessory Prayer Group A few good people are interested in praying deeply for your needs and those of the parish. If you are interested, too, please call Michael Gray at 825-8786.
Administrative Groups
The Vestry (Church Board) meets on the second Monday of the month at 7:00 PM. Members are elected to three year terms at our annual meeting. If you have an idea about how to make St. Stephen’s a better church or if you would like to stand for election at our next annual meeting, please call any of our Vestry members. They’d be happy to hear from you.
The Junior Warden's Committee seeks members for its various sub-committees to plan and supervise the upkeep of the buildings and grounds of the Church. If you have expertise in fund raising, construction, building and zoning, etc., your assistance would be appreciated.
The Stewardship Committee helps people to offer their time, talent and treasure to the Lord.
The Audit Committee reviews our parish fiscal procedures and monitors our financial condition.
Young Life of Culpeper meets here and its director is a member of the Church, Jeff Vogel.
